ROME – A delegation from the Uil Fpl of Rovigo was also present at today’s national demonstration in Rome of all the workers of the Local Police Force in Italy. The primary objective of the event was to send a clear message to politics: in fact, there are approximately 60 thousand officials and agents of the Local Police who They have been waiting for the reform of a Framework Law for 38 yearslaw 65 of 1986, now obsolete.
In fact, we believe that a concrete reform of the current regulatory framework, aimed at defining a regulatory framework consistent with the growing responsibilities and new tasks entrusted to the Local Police, can no longer be postponed, in addition to the necessary recognition of greater protections and rights, and the adequate economic and professional valorisation.
Michele Gresele referent local police Uil Fpl Rovigo, remarks: “As regards the Local Police of the capital, the professionalism of the Corps’ employees increases in contrast to the increase in regulatory skills and delegated activities substituted by the Police Forces. The procrastination of a reform at national level is accompanied by an accentuated rigidity in personnel management, which is still understaffed despite the three recent competitions. On the one hand, this compromises the balance between work and family life for staff; on the other hand, it hinders the performance of the assigned task of leading municipality in the territory”.
The event was really well attended, obviously the common theme was the national issues relating to the reform proposal by adjusting salaries, tasks and functions, “but the situation of the Municipality of Rovigo – underlines Cristiano Maria Pavarin, General Secretary of Uil Fpl Rovigo – is certainly emblematic in that the Rovigo agents were called back to cover roles that should be included in the requested reform, which is therefore even more late here precisely because the body has been transformed over the years from the point from the point of view of tasks and functions, without considering the assignment of weapons, but from a contractual point of view nothing has changed”.
