Fifteen million euros to proceed with the liquidation of the remaining sums intended for public transport companies with the aim of compensating for the lower revenues of the years from 2021 to 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This is what was decided by the Regional Council which applied the restricted share of the administration result.

“This is – commented the regional transport councilor, Debora Ciliento – a long process of providing compensation to local public transport companies for lost revenues due to the Covid epidemic. Naturally, they are sums distributed on the basis of certified data entered by the individual companies operating TPL services on the TPL observatory platform, extracted, processed and transmitted by the technical assistance of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, of which the Region then takes note” , he concluded.

The 15,140,841.16 euros allocated will be divided as follows: €7,683,690.49 for public transport companies of regional competence for the railway sector (Ferrotramviaria SpA; Ferrovie Appulo Lucane Srl; Ferrovie del Gargano Srl; Ferrovie del Sud Est e Servizi Automobilistici Srl; Trenitalia SpA); €1,670,180.32 for regional public transport companies for the automotive sector (CO.TR.AP); €5,786,970.35 for local authorities (Metropolitan City of Bari; Province of Brindisi, Province of Foggia; Province of Lecce; Province of Taranto; 39 Municipalities).
