“With reference to the news of the press release from the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Perugia of 21 May 2024, reported by various newspapers, Acciai Speciali Terni expresses satisfaction and gratitude to the Investigating Authorities who have allowed the indictment of six people for the crimes of criminal association, fraud and illicit trafficking of waste, which would also involve an AST employee who at the time of the facts was carrying out the job of classifier.
The investigation – we read a note from Ast – originated in 2018 following a report from Acciai Speciali Terni which promptly identified anomalies in the control and verification operations of the scrap delivered to it by a supplier and, consequently, informed the Investigating Authorities requesting the their intervention.
Acciai Speciali Terni, throughout the long preliminary investigation phase, constantly collaborated with the investigators and the police, providing them with the relevant active support.
