In a city election campaign that is struggling to get going, he tries Erica Martinicandidate for mayor of Sanremo, to warm things up a bit and does so by welcoming the Honorable Member to the city Gianni Alemannosecretary of the Independence party, and, among others, former mayor of Rome and former minister of agricultural and forestry policies, who arrived from the capital to support the latter’s candidacy for the elections of 8 and 9 June.
Guest at Fos for the conference “Italy and Europe against war”, which will be held this afternoon at 6pm, Alemanno took the opportunity to explain the projects of the new Independence party for Sanremo: “Erica is very important to us”explains Alemanno. “She is the symbol of the renewal that we want to bring to Sanremo, a city that is too important for the collective imagination of Italians and for those who live there. We need to put these two aspects together and Erica Martini is the ideal person to do this. First of all because she is a woman, secondly because she has never been involved in politics, in fact she is a competent and new person”.
“I can only thank our national secretary, who came here to support me – continued Erica Martini – Today’s meeting with Alemanno was very positive and our electoral campaign is continuing very well. My real goal? If we manage to elect 3 municipal councilors already, I can say I’m happy, even if my dream is to get to the run-off.”
Then a hint about your idea of Sanremo 2024-2029: “I would like to see the major works already in progress completed”, continues Martini. “We need to create a balance between these and the reality of the city. I want to make Sanremo a livable city for everyone.” Then, at Alemanno’s suggestion, he adds: “Furthermore, I would like to renegotiate the compensation for the Sanremo Festival, which has recently halved. I would like to bring it back to the figures of the past and then reinvest these funds in social issues.”
Finally, a joke also on the Rivieracqua case. After the moves of the center left and the 5 Star Movement, Erica Martini comments on the issue in this way: “We are talking about a thorny situation. I do not feel like inviting the population not to ask for installments and not to pay the debt, since from what I understand the bills received by citizens are legal. I know they have appealed to the TAR, although I think they will lose it, unfortunately.”
