Caserta, De Luca inaugurates expansion works on the hospital

Caserta – “The Caserta Hospital is one of the excellences we have in Campania”. With these words the governor, Vincenzo De Luca, inaugurated, this morning, in the “Sant’Anna e San Sebastiano” hospital, the start of work on an impressive and complex healthcare building project, for the construction of 177 places bed and support services.

The intervention, financed with funds from the Mission “M6.C2-1.2. Towards a safe and sustainable hospital” of the National Plan of Complementary Investments (Pnc) to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr) and of the Non-deferrable Works Fund (FOI) for a total cost of 54,395,000 euros, will allow the construction of 4 new buildings , united by a central connecting body, following the demolition of some buildings, the partial demolition and structural and architectural adaptation of other buildings, the redevelopment of open spaces with green areas and car parks.

“It is a complex work – underlined the general director, Gaetano Gubitosa – because we will demolish and renovate buildings in which healthcare activities are carried out which, however, we will continue to guarantee without any interruption. We have, in fact, preliminarily arranged for their temporary reallocation to areas of other buildings, which have been appropriately redeveloped”.

After the inauguration of the construction site and the unveiling of the synoptic panel of the project, the general director, with the health director, Angela Annecchiarico, and the administrative director, Amalia Carrara, guided president De Luca on a journey aimed at illustrating the building interventions completed and verify the progress of those in progress: the construction site of a two-storey building, financed with funds pursuant to art. 20 L. 67/88, in which an operating theater with 8 surgical rooms, one of which is hybrid, and the new analysis laboratory will be located, with completion of the works expected for February 2025; the premises that will host the Pathological Anatomy and Histology operational unit, where the renovation and seismic adaptation works were carried out. The day culminated in the assembly hall with the conclusions of governor De Luca, after the report from the general director.

The manager of the Aorn “Sant’Anna e San Sebastiano” in Caserta described the other healthcare building interventions completed and underway: the expansion of the emergency room with 10 more beds, all equipped with the most modern electro-medical equipment, Triage biphasic, Emergency Radiology; the construction site of a three-storey building, financed with funds pursuant to art. 20 L. 67/88, which will host Radiotherapy with bunkers, Nuclear Medicine with Pet-CT and two Gamma Chambers, the Spinal Unit with 44 beds and swimming pools for functional rehabilitation, the related clinics, with completion of the works scheduled for July 2025.

In thanking the civil and military authorities who intervened for their mutual and continuous institutional collaboration, Gubitosa outlined an analysis of the management performance of the Company, listing the investments in technology and the strengthening of the surgical sector with the increase in surgical beds Vascular and activation, in agreement, with the aim of training internal specialists, of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Thoracic Surgery.
