The municipal administration of Valtournenche is preparing a new contract for ordinary and extraordinary maintenance interventions on public roads and squares in the area. This was announced by deputy mayor Massimo Chatrian, responding to a motion by “For Valtournenche and Breuil” in the city council on Monday. The group complained about the conditions of degradation in which the municipal road network finds itself after the winter: the vice mayor explained that the funds for the works have run out and that work is being done on a new contract worth 450 thousand euros for the three-year period .
On the subject of the budget, the council gave the green light to the first variation of the three-year forecast document with almost 1.6 million euros under the “revenue” item coming from the Mountain Fund and destined for the works on the Capanna Carrel. However, more time will be needed for the 2023 financial statement: the mayor Elisa Cicco explained that the change in IT programs has slowed down the approval process of the act.
The city council then unanimously voted to dissolve the Gran Becca Foundation, created to organize the Alpine skiing World Cup races scheduled in Valtournenche. The organization proved to be very expensive from the beginning and the intention to proceed with its dissolution was already known last year. Once the municipal elections passed, the decision was made final.
