Visit this morning by the presidential candidate for the regional elections of the Democratic Party Gianna Pentenero in Asti. Pentenero concentrated on Asti healthcare, presenting its program for quality public healthcare, against wild privatization and endless waiting lists.
The morning began with a demonstration in front of the Cardinal Massaia hospital to meet healthcare workers, unions and citizens. At 9, together with the candidates of his coalition, Maria Ferlisi and Fabio Isnardi, she went to the Corso alla Vittoria entrance of the old hospital to denounce the dilapidated conditions of the structure and the total lack of planning and ideas on how to transform that building and save it from abandonment.
“Despite the bombastic promises of the Cirio council and its council, the old hospital remains hostage to degradation and in dilapidated conditions – explained Pentenero in front of journalists – we need to rethink the entire regional healthcare system. Today things don’t work: it’s unthinkable that a reservation at the Cup will take years with tests miles away.”
The Democratic Party representative also returned to one of the other hot points of the electoral campaign, that of transport: “This system also needs to be completely revised, there are areas of the province that are not connected: this is why we have proposed that railway services be free for up to 25 years, to encourage mobility and the right to study of students”
