Ezio Capuano is saying goodbye after a long season, trying to express his emotions. The tears are barely held back. “Thanks to the people of Taranto who believed in it. We too believed in it despite the many ailments. There are players who could not go on the pitch. I mention the names of Calvano, Miceli and Kanoute. We crowned a stratospheric season, with a great performance in a difficult pitch. We fought until the 96th minute, we even broke down in search of the goal, there’s a lot of regret for going out. We had a dream, but physically we weren’t at our best. We came with the attitude of a great team, without being the sacrificial victim”.
Capuano had said he would leave no regrets. But one sentence falls out of his mouth.
“Two more points would have made all the difference. Having entered the competition now, it would have been difficult to beat us. I’m sure that no one would have surpassed us.” The technician makes a small summary. “It’s been two years with different teams, but with the same philosophy. This is a football miracle that started in the summer. We cried in the locker room but we have to keep our heads high. Future?
