From Oristano to Aosta: my week in the mountains

From Oristano to Aosta: my week in the mountains

A week in AostaSera, for me, I had only seen the Aosta Valley in photographs. An experience possible thanks to a journalistic “loan”, the Erasmus of the editorial staff promoted by Anso, the national online press association. My journey with notebook in hand starts from Sardinia and LinkOristano, a newspaper that welcomed me four years ago and allowed me to put down roots in my city, Oristano.

I arrived in Aosta last Sunday. The following day I entered the editorial office for the first time. I was welcomed by a team of trained and up-to-date journalists, capable of getting to the heart of the news, also with in-depth videos and captivating social communication. I found a lot of rain, but above all a family environmentI expect the latter which facilitated my integration and allowed me to immediately get in tune with my colleagues.

However, it wasn’t just a week of work. I had the opportunity to discover the city center of Aosta and admire the Arch of Augustus and the Cathedral, with the still whitewashed mountains in the background. Furthermore, I visited the regional archaeological museum, the forensic cryptoporticus and the cloister of Sant’Orso. The only flaw is the Roman Theatre, closed for works. It will be a good excuse to return in the future.

In my suitcase I will also carry with me the memory of a cold May in the Aosta Valley, in particular of the freezing Verrayes, which I visited on the occasion of the recent stage of the Soirée Vertikal. My thanks go to AostaSera for their hospitality. See you in Sardinia.
