“The president/commissioner makes better use of the tools at his disposal to improve the Calabrian healthcare system”
Press release
“I participated in the demonstrations organized by the CGIL Area Vasta in Lamezia Terme and Vibo, also on behalf of the “The healthcare we want” Committee.
The mobilization provides an important opportunity to firmly reiterate the need for urgent measures in defense of public health services, effective and adequate for the needs of Calabrian citizens”. This is what he says the regional councilor of the Democratic Party, vice president of the Health Commission, Amalia Bruni.
“The Calabrian healthcare system is experiencing the worst moment in its history – states Bruni again -. All the indicators confirm this and this despite the fact that the commissioner/president has at his disposal the possibility of making an impact with tools he has never had before. It is unacceptable that for years now means and resources have persisted that we are unable to use: centralized competitions with open-ended regional procedures, which also allow the hiring of trainees; regional plan for the purchase of new technologies; implementation of the PNRR; definition of previous debt and approval of financial statements. Too many announcements and few facts”
“Even the hospital network which has been modified three times in eight months demonstrates the absence of a strategy, with the boulder of “Company zero”, or rather a single company which after two and a half years shows faint signs of life but which absorbs , only on paper, top resources that are taken away from health services throughout the regional territory. We – concludes Councilor Bruni – will continue to be mobilized in defense of public health in support of services and therefore the protection of the right to care for everyone”.
