From the slopes of Vesuvius to the cradle of art. From Naples to Florence, the location changes but not the emotions it will give Final Six of men’s and women’s Artistic Gymnastics. Palazzo Wanny in via del Cavallaccio, the new sports facility on the eastern outskirts of the Tuscan capital, is ready to host the challenge for the 2024 scudetto, the final act of the National Serie A1 Championship of great tools, “Trofeo San Carlo Veggy Good”. The organization is entrusted to the local Il Poggetto Gymnastics club of president Mauro Selvi – after the successes of the regular season stages in 2019, 2020 and 2023 – in collaboration with the Italian Gymnastics Federation and with a staff of volunteers led by Lara Put them down.

It will be an exciting weekend, which will see the strongest teams in the championship compete to award the titles of Italian champions. Eyes on the Brixia of the blue fairies with the fresh European champions Alice D’Amato, Elisa Iorio and Angela Andreoli, as well as Giorgia Villa, Martina Maggio and Veronica Mandriota. Unfortunately, Asia D’Amato will be absent, as she suffered a cruciate knee rupture in Rimini but, with the continental medal around her neck, she will still be cheering for her sister and her teammates. The Brescia club boasts 21 championships in its palmares and has held the scepter of Italian champions for ten consecutive years. In the men’s competition, the favorites are the boys from Virtus Ernesto Pasqualettiholders of the 2023 tricolor won in Naples a year ago after the previous three successes in 2013, 2016 and 2020. The Macerata club can count on the two European vice-champions Matteo Levantesi and Mario Macchiati as well as on the experience of Paolo Principi, Tommaso De Vecchis and Filippo Castellaro.

Both teams led the Regular Season standings, which started with the first stage in Montichiari (2-3 February), continued in Ancona (23-24 February) and concluded with the last day in Ravenna (6-7 April). In Florence the best six men’s and women’s teams will compete, first in the semi-finals scheduled Saturday 25 May from 4.50 pm live on Sportface TV then the top three GAM and GAF ​​in the final on Sunday 26 May, which will be broadcast live on RAI Sport from 3.40pm with technical commentary by Ilaria Colombo and Andrea Massaro.

The draws defined the semi-final groups, from which the group winners and the best second in terms of technical scores will advance. In the women’s, in group A, the battle will be between Gymnastics Civitavecchia of the European champion Manila Esposito – who will be supported by July Marano and Nunzia Dercenno – Artistic ’81 Trieste – with the young European medalists Benedetta Gava and Emma Puato – e Libertas Gymnastics Vercelli, who as newly promoted qualified for the Final Six dragged by Giulia Perotti and Artemisia Iorfino, two other winning protagonists of Rimini 2024; in group B, however, Brixia will face Renato Serra Sports Union and another newly promoted like the Gymnastics Riccione. In the men’s, in group A, there will be Virtus Pasqualetti, the Pro Carate Gymnastics – which boasts among its ranks the continental bronze Yumin Abbadini, vice champion with the team, and the junior Diego Vazzola, silver with Italy at the European Championship, as well as Riccardo Villa – and the Ferrara Gymnastics Gym with the support of the Ukrainian champion Ilia Kovtun; instead in group B, the Gymnastic Romagna Team will be able to count on Lorenzo Casali, while Nicolò Mozzato, Stefano Patron and Ares Federici will support the newly promoted team Spes Mestrewithout forgetting that Tommaso Brugnami – five medals in the junior event in Romagna – will be there to lend a hand to the Ancona Youth.

The Tuscan weekend, however, will be full of great gymnastics. The Serie B and C playoffs/playouts will take place on Saturday 25 May at 9.40am to determine the last promoted or saved teams. The Serie A2 playoffs will be staged on Sunday 26 May, from 10:00 live on Sportface TV to decide the last team promoted to the top flight next year: in the men’s competition the challenge will be between gymnastics Sampietrina, Rome 70 And Campania 2000 (already promoted Ginnastica Salerno and Ares); in the feminine Futuregym 2000, Pavia gymnastics And Roman gymnastics (already promoted Forza e Coraggio Milano and Acrobatic Fitness).
