REGGIO CALABRIA Tomorrow in Reggio Calabria the third stage of the “Sustainability on tour”, Confartigianato’s journey into green mobility which until 20 May will explore the challenges and opportunities linked to new vehicle technologies, urban planning, infrastructures, the impact on business activities, employment and citizens’ lifestyles. Sustainable mobility is a topic that affects small businesses very closely, taking into account that over 70,000 artisan businesses operate in the automotive supply chain, equal to over 40% of the total and reaching over 75% in the maintenance and repair sector, workers there are 387,000 equal to almost 70% of the total. The initiative involves a “journey of knowledge” with two electric cars leaving from Vicenza and heading south to understand the quality of the infrastructure, charging times and the state of the electricity grid. The “CI.TE.MO.S, Sustainability on tour” arrives at 10.30 in the Sala di Palazzo Alvaro in Piazza Italia. The meeting includes, after the greetings of the president of Confartigianato Reggio Calabria, Salvatore Ascioti and the mayor of Reggio Calabria, the presentation of the Confartigianato tour on sustainable mobility is entrusted to Valter Fabris of Confartigianato Imprese. This will be followed by a discussion on the topic of “the electrifying challenge of sustainable mobility”, enriched by the point of view of: Daniele Invernizzi, president of eV-Now! (Foundation that has been a point of reference in Italy for electric mobility and decarbonisation for 15 years and will talk about the electric evolution of sustainable mobility); Consuelo Nava, professor at the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria, Department of Architecture and Simone Caiello, CEMTET researcher at the University of Milan-Bicocca, who will discuss “Urban areas and mobility sustainability”; the speech by Vincenzo Marra, president of the Reggio Calabria municipal council on the topic “Reggio Calabria and sustainable mobility and finally Giuseppe Barillà, administrator of the EcoHub company, electric mobility sector, who will express the point of view of an automotive entrepreneur”. The conclusions are entrusted to Silvano Barbalace, regional secretary of Confartigianato Calabria.
