PALERMO – “The mafia elites invest a lot in business committees that bring together entrepreneurs, freelancers, exponents of the political-institutional world to be present in the legal market”.

These signs of change in mafia activities are captured by Gaspare Morosinipresident of the Palermo court, in many rulings on cases in central-northern Italy.

The conference

Morosini, who spoke at the conference “Mafias and anti-mafia today”believes that criminal associations “carry out economic activities, provide services to local businesses, guarantee services at competitive prices: they are present for example in the waste disposal sector, in manufacturing production, in many other activities”.

All this, according to Morosini, “poses the problem of the contrast response for phenomena that have already been present for several years years on the national territory. Now we need to ask ourselves whether anti-corruption legislation is adequate at this time.” Numerous speakers at the conference on mafia and anti-mafia.
