‘Viva Vittoria’, here is the sewing marathon to form the immense blanket against feminicides and violence

Saturday from 10am to 6pm at the New Church of San Giacomo Apostolo arrives the sewing marathon of the ‘Viva Vittoria’ project, an initiative that personally involves thousands of women who have the opportunity and the possibility of collaborating concretely to help women who are victims of male violence.

From January to today 5,000 squares of wool of each color have already been collected and will be united, during the marathon, in blankets of four squares each. Saturday will be an important collective momentwhere hundreds of covers will be made which, added to others, will be exhibited on 23 and 24 November in front of the Estense Castle on the occasion of the World Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

An enormous shared relational work which will completely cover the square, an immense multicolored expanse in support of the Women and Justice Center for autonomy projects for women victims of violence.

The day of the marathon includes, simultaneously with the collective sewing of the squares, some interventions by the promoters and the Municipalities that actively contributed to the initiative which involved dozens of schools, libraries, community centers and spontaneous groups throughout the territory and received donations of balls of wool or cotton from companies and shops.

The ‘Viva Vittoria’ project in Ferrara is managed entirely by volunteers and can be followed on social media. For information you can contact 3208622289.
