As a sign of gratitude for having demonstrated a spirit of sacrifice and absolute self-sacrifice during the Sars-Cov 2 pandemic emergency.” With these words, the Italian Red Cross awarded the “Time of Kindness” medal of merit to the University Hospital and the Local Health Unit of Parma. “Also demonstrating – adds the motivation – high civic and moral conscience, in full adherence to the ideals and principles of the Red Cross Association”.
The medal, established in recognition of all those who were on the front line in the fight against Covid, was presented to the general director of the University Hospital and extraordinary commissioner of the Ausl Massimo Fabi by the president of the Italian Red Cross Parma Giuseppe Zammarchi.
“A recognition – declared the president of CRI Parma Zammarchi – which underlines the collaboration between the health authorities of our territory and the world of volunteering which manifested itself even more strongly during the pandemic period, but which is always present in all our activities.”

It reminds us of dramatic moments which nevertheless showed all the tenacity and professionalism of the operators in the face of the health emergency and which reiterates the importance of that social and health network made up of volunteers, associations, hospitals and the territory to provide concrete responses to the needs and to the fragilities that manifest themselves from time to time”.
