CREAM – It amounts to 443.5 eurosin April 2024, the average Motor TPL premium in Italy, up by 9.3% on the same month of 2023, despite the slight decline on the previous month (-1.3%). This was revealed by the Segugio.it Insurance Observatory, which monitors insurance products, utilities and credit products. In the first 4 months of the year, prices rose by 12.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.

In Cremona the average premium recorded in the first four months of 2024 is 378.9 euros compared to 331.1 in the same period of 2023, with an increase of 14.4%. This is a comforting figure when compared to the national one in absolute terms. In Italy the average premium recorded by Segugio.it in the first four months is 450.1 euros, with an increase of 12.9% over the same period in 2023.

If you look in detail at the data for Lombardy you will notice that the average Motor TPL premium in the first four months was 391.9 euros, up 15% on the previous year. Therefore in Cremona car insurance costs less and increases even less than the regional average. At provincial level, Como recorded the highest increase in prices, with +18.9%, followed by Sondrio (+17%), Milan and Bergamo (+16.6%). Close to the average are Lecco with +15.7%, Monza (+15.1%) and Cremona (+14.4%). The only two provinces that recorded an increase not in double figures were Mantua and Lodi, with +9.1% and +9.3%.

«In this context of rising prices – we read in the note released by Segugio.it -, Italians have proven to be more active in looking for a more convenient policy. In fact, the company change rate, i.e. the percentage of policyholders who change companies at the time of renewal, was 17.8% in January 2024, up 19.5% on the same month of the previous year. While on the one hand the percentage of Italians who change companies at the time of renewal is growing, the majority, around 82.2%, still renew with the same company, without evaluating any cheaper alternatives or those suited to their profile. ».
