Building a group from scratch and taking it to a national championship was the main objective, Futsal Vasto Beach Soccer achieved this in the Lnd under 20 championship.
Leaving Viareggio with a victory would have been even better but up front, the young people (all born between 2003 and 2008) of mister Peppe Soriathey found themselves the same age with much more experience on the beach.
In the first match on the calendar, in the Tuscan Arena, the red and whites, despite scoring with Alfonso Ventrella and Matteo Stanisci, they slipped against Sambenedettese Beach Soccer (7-2). The match that smiled at Icierre Lamezia was more competitive (7-3) finding a brace from Nicholas Soria (son of the coach) and Gledis Cela.
Nothing to do in the match against Catania Beach Soccer which went to the money with 7 to 2 despite the signatures of Vasto Federico Di Marino and Alessio Esposito. Pisa were too strong on the last day in Viareggio, scoring again Alfonso Ventrella and Alessio Esposito, in the 9-2 final.
Despite the defeats, the one in Tuscany was one useful stop for the red and white staff to understand the value of a group that has already returned to training in Vasto Marina. The next and last event of the season will be in Paestum, from 4 to 7 July, where the Italian under 20 Cup will be staged. Thursday 4 July (3.30pm) debut against Icierre Lamezia in a remake of the match already staged in Viareggio, whoever wins flies to the quarter-finals, in the event of a kappaò they will enter the triangular table to complete the ranking (from 9th to 11th place). Futsal Vasto Beach Soccer under 20 will try to greet the season at least with a victory.
