Today, May 16, the couriers of the SDA-Poste Italiane branch in Pescara began a state of agitation, a decision taken in consultation with the general secretary of Cisal Terziario, Dr. Vincenzo Caratelli.
“The decision refers to the work problems revealed during the strike last June 2023 as the situation not only has not changed but has actually worsened.” It is read in a note.
Couriers face difficulties in organizing their work on a daily basis:

The increase in volumes is generating an overload of work which, due to disorganization, forces drivers to leave the branch with considerable delays, with the consequence of affecting the entire organization of work;

The branch warehouse is insufficient for the loading and unloading of goods, posing risks to the safety of workers;

Means of transport require maintenance to ensure the health and safety of workers;

The shortage of staff continues to create difficulties in requesting workers’ holidays and permits;

The drivers themselves report the lack of pallets and cages for storing packages which are most often left on the floor creating further inconvenience.
