Aosta, door-to-door collection of textile-healthcare waste from 7 June

Users with newborns, elderly or disabled people can request the new container

The “door to door” waste collection in Aosta will be extended in a few days to the collection of sanitary textiles, i.e. nappies, nappies, sleepers and absorbent sanitary material in general. The service is aimed at domestic users and families with newborns, elderly people or people with disabilities who use these types of products by throwing them, for the moment, in the so-called undifferentiated waste.

The separation of textile-sanitary waste, foreseen by the Regional Waste Plan, is already partly underway for nursery schools and facilities for the elderly and from next June 7th it will become “door to door” for citizens. The user who requests it will be given a 120 liter container (for single user use and not for condominium use) which will be emptied on a weekly basis, every Friday morning, with exposure starting from 8pm on the previous day until 5am on the previous day. collection.

The application to receive the container must be submitted to the Quendoz company using a self-certification that can be downloaded online (link). The company itself will be notified when the sanitary textile collection service is no longer necessary.

«This is an innovative service», states the municipal administration in a note, which «will allow us to reduce the quantity delivered in the residual urban waste fraction (formerly “undifferentiated”) and, consequently, the number of deliveries that will be counted for the Tarip calculation”, the specific tariff that increases or decreases depending on the quantity of waste that the user disposes of.
