A dead body was found on binaries: train movement suspended at the height of Acquaviva delle Fonti, in the Bari area, due to the “discovery of a deceased person” on the tracks. Trenitalia announced this, explaining that investigations by the judicial authorities are underway. The transport company announces delays, cancellations and restrictions on train routes. Specifically, the Intercity that was supposed to reach Lecce from Milan stopped its journey in Acquaviva and passengers continued their journey with a bus made available by Trenitalia.

The intercity train which left Lecce this morning at 7.42am and headed for Milan “is routed from Brindisi to Bari on the alternative route via Ostuni” and skips the stops at Mesagne, Francavilla Fontana, Taranto and Gioia del Colle. Passengers departing from Brindisi and heading to Taranto and those departing from Taranto can use “the first available trains managed by Trenitalia customer service staff”, while those departing from Gioia del Colle can use the replacement bus set up to Bari Centrale and continue to Milan with Intercity. From Francavilla Fontana the Taranto-Brindisi train is available from where it is possible to continue the journey with the Lecce-Bari and then with the Bari-Milan.
