The sports season of Miwa Energia Basketball Benevento it was undoubtedly satisfactory not only for the results obtained by the senior rosters, but also for the growth and goals achieved by the various groups in the youth sector.
Coach’s women’s under 19 roster Calandrelli is fresh from the experience of the final four of Campania Cupheld in a single venue in Castellammare di Stabia, where after losing 51-46 in the semi-final against New Cap Mariglianothe wild boars obtained third place, beating the Pol. Battipagliese 52-44. Result obtained thanks to the consistency shown by the Samnites during the season, having closed both the first and second phases in third place.
As regards the under 15 female group coached by coach Vincenzo Pasquariello, after finishing the regional phase in eighth place, the little wild boars fought in the Campania Cup play-offs against Virtus Piscinolacoming out defeated with a score of 42-38 at the end of a battle with no holds barred, an experience that adds to the beautiful tournament in Cesenatico, which we have already talked about, in which coach Pasquariello’s team ranked third place.
Moving on to the men’s roster, the under 19 group, coached by coach Nicola Round, took part in the regional Silver championship in the category, finishing the first phase in eighth place. After having obtained access to the Campania Cup playoffs, beating Aragona Smav in the play-offs, the run of coach Rotondi’s team stopped in the round of 16, in which the “cousins” of Basketball friends.
Coach Pasquariello’s under 17 team, however, played in the experimental championship reserved for athletes born exclusively in 2008, finishing the first phase in fourth place, a useful result for qualifying for the gold phase, in which the young Samnites ranked seventh place, after courageously facing strong and insidious teams.
Finally, the under 14 group played in the Silver championship, finishing the first phase in third place, under the guidance of coach Rotondi. In the second gold phase, however, the little boars had the opportunity to face very competitive teams and find themselves in eighth position, with one match remaining to be played at home against Mondragone.
Remarkable results, therefore, from an ever-growing youth sector, which continues to provide important satisfactions.
