In the “Fox” operation, 14 people were investigated, six of whom were arrested

The judge of the preliminary hearings Riccardo Alcamo sentenced four of the eleven defendants for whom the Prosecutor’s Office requested indictment, all involved in the “Fox” anti-drug operation. Blitz launched on May 9, 2023, which shed light on cocaine trafficking from Catania to Marsala. According to what was reconstructed by the investigators, approximately two kilos of cocaine arrived in Marsala every month and “flooded the city, favoring very lucrative illicit revenues for traffickers”.
Four and a half years in prison, plus a fine of 24 thousand euros, was the sentence imposed by the preliminary judge on the convicted felon Vincenzo Fabio Licariof Marsala, while he was sentenced to two years, plus a 10 thousand euro fine Agatino Lorenzo Abate, from Catania. The other two convicts are Riccardo Giacalone (1 year and 8 months, and a fine of 4 thousand euros) e Carlo Frazzitta (one and a half years and 9 thousand euro fine), both from Marsala. For Licari and Abate, the prosecutor Fernando Asaro had requested a 10-year prison sentence, while four years had been requested for Giacalone and 2 years and 8 months for Frazzitta.
Seven other defendants were sent to trial before the Marsala Court (monocratic). I am Pietro Marino, Gaspare Maurizio Giannone, Vincenzo Andrea Giannone, Giuseppe La Mantia, Francesco Vinci, Alberto Giacalone And Loris Carmelo Abate. Except for the latter, who is from Catania, they are all from Marsala. The trial against them will begin on June 26th.
In the “Fox” operation, 14 people were investigated, six of whom were arrested and two vehicle sales and rental companies, based in Marsala, with which the suspects had organized, on several occasions, the transport of the drugs from Catania to Marsala using unsuspected rental cars.
