For Passaro, the winner of the duel between the Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild and the Finnish Emil Ruusuvuori will be in the second round on Friday: a match stopped on Wednesday at 4-3 for the second and restarted on Thursday evening, just before around 9.20pm a heavy downpour forced everything to be postponed until the following day. Luca Nardi and JJ Wolf also paid the price for yet another meteorological freak, fighting at a score of 4-4 in the third when the rain stopped everything. Also still to be played in the first rounds is the match between David Goffin and Juan Pablo Varillas.
They will all be on the court on Friday, on a day (starting at 10am) which also includes second round matches for the singles, as well as the first round and quarter-finals of the doubles. The Campo Stadio program is very rich, with four matches that promise entertainment. At 11 it’s Luciano Darderi’s turn against Marc-Andrea Huesler, then Lorenzo Sonego against Federico Coria and then the Arnaldi-Fognini blue derby. At the end of the program, not before 6pm, the debut of the top seed Lorenzo Musetti, against the winner of Goffin-Varillas.
