VENAFRO – Reduced water flow, citizens’ protests continue

VENAFRO – The reduction in water flow is causing great inconvenience to citizens who are demanding solutions.

The people of Venafran and especially the residents of the historic center are exasperated by the lack of water in their homes. The water flow, in addition to being reduced, appears to be mostly non-existent, leading to a series of important problems to the detriment of the population. An important issue that seems to be linked to the lack of cash availability of Molise Acque which in a note addressed to the Region declared that it boasts a credit of twelve million euros from Grim (Molise Water Resources Management), the company that has been managing the networks for a couple of years. municipal authorities and issues payment bills to end users. Ultimately, Grim, to which users pay their bills and whose proceeds should be forwarded by the company to Molise Acque, would not have paid the amount necessary to pay for the electricity with which the tanks of the municipalities involved are supplied, among the such as Venafro.

The outage, however, has generated discontent and a certain nervousness among citizens who since last Friday have begun to deal with the reduction of the water flow or even the total lack of water at home, a situation which, close to summer, cannot that generate concern. Citizens, rightly, demand solutions since the failure to supply drinking water generates various inconveniences including the difficulty in attending to personal and home hygiene, the impossibility of using household appliances, in short, of satisfying life needs primary and basic. In this regard, the jurisprudence itself has established that all the inconveniences listed have repercussions on the right to quality of life, causing real existential damage.

The meeting took place yesterday, Wednesday 15 May, in Bojano between the leaders of Molise Acque and Grim in the presence, via videoconference, of the regional councilor with responsibility for the integrated water system, Michele Marone. At the end of the meeting, the president of Molise Acque, Stefano Sabatini, said he was satisfied and announced the activation of a permanent table aimed at finding a solution to the ongoing dispute with the Grim company. The table will be convened at the beginning of next week and it is hoped that it will not be inspired by the many technical tables started and never reached definition.
