Bologna, 16 May 2024 – Giampiero Gualandithe 63 year old policeman who today he shot, killing herthe former traffic warden Sofia Stefani 30 years youngerwas former commander of the local police of Terre d’Acqua and of the local police garrison of Crevalcore.

And precisely during his years as commander he was at the center of one judicial matter which took him to court.
It was in fact a state sent to trial for having written posts on Facebook, with fake profiles, and, in doing so, discredited the then and current mayor of Anzola Giampiero Veronesi, which, within the Union of Terre d’Acqua, had the responsibility for security. Discovered, reported, he was then sent to trial. The story came to light a few years later while Gualandi was in command of the local police station in Crevalcore.
But here are the facts. It was 2015 when the local police issued two finesfrom 480 euros each, toAnzola association ‘Maiabasta’, who took care of the local beer festival. The association had displayed signs regarding its initiative without having authorization. The mayor took the defense of ‘Maiabasta’ arguing that those fines, although they may have been legitimate under strict legal rigor, were however unjust on the merits.
Because sums of that type, requested from those who volunteer, just for having displayed some unauthorized warning signs, seemed excessive. Shortly thereafter, on the Facebook page ‘With Giampiero Veronesi mayor’, comments began to appear, which were not flattering, towards the mayor, coming from three profiles which were actually false accounts directly attributable, as the postal police discovered, to the former commander Giampiero Gualandi.
Hence the indictment for the crimes of aggravated defamation, impersonation and continuation of the crime.
