Celebrating the 78th anniversary of Sicilian autonomy – i.e. the conversion into constitutional law, n.2 of 1948, of the special statute of the region, approved in 1946 – the docufilm “I stay here”, made with the support of the prefectures of Agrigento and Caltanissetta and screened yesterday in the capital of Agrigento, at the “Pirandello” theater, on the occasion of the anniversary, in the presence of citizens and authorities.
Among these, the prefect of Agrigento Filippo Romano, present at the event with, among others, the mayors of the capital and of Palma di Montechiaro – location of the work together with San Cataldo – and the director of the provincial school office.
In fact, local students also attended the screening, to learn about and make their own the cultural values of their land and its historical memory. This is the objective shared by the two Sicilian prefectures together with the municipalities that form the backdrop to the work, and which for this very reason have sponsored it.
“I stay here” is one of the products of the “native” artistic project “Yes in Sicily”, composed of Sicilians and designed to enhance the beauty and values of the region starting from its inhabitants.
