Amazing feat by the Under 14 Provincial Representative of Asti who won their difficult group and qualified for the Final Four of the Provinces Tournament.
Inserted in a tough group with Turin, Alessandria and Cuneo, coach Valerio Giovinazzo’s boys finished in first place with two victories, against Alessandria and Turin, and one defeat. A very balanced group as demonstrated by the results of the first two rounds, in which the winners of the first day (Asti over Alessandria and Turin over Cuneo), were defeated in the second (Asti beaten by Cuneo and Turin by Alessandria), thus finding themselves in vigilant of the third, final and decisive day with equal points. Round which saw the narrow success (1 to 0) of the Asti representative over Turin and the draw between Alessandria and Cuneo.
The decisive match between Asti and Torino was played on the neutral pitch of Chieri, the Asti team started in order, defending well and managing the counterattacks in the best possible way with great work by Valanzano and Maggio. Torino dribbles better, without ever managing to create danger in Bruno’s area. Great performance also from the entire red and white back pack. At the end of the second half a restart on the Marmo-Maggio axis led to a goal by Dennis Maggio himself, striker of Sca Asti which made it 1-0. Turin assault in the final minutes, but the defense of Bruno and his teammates doesn’t give up.
So the appointment is June 23rd for the Final Four scheduled in Verbania.
