The case of the Youth Forum breaks out, evicted from its headquarters in Piazza Ruggiero in Caserta. After 4 months of silence on the part of the administration led by Carlo Marino, the president Rachele Aurora Marzaioli enters a collision course with the mayor: “Caserta deserves something better”.
“At the moment, as you know, we don’t have an office, or rather, we share it with an association. Our things are there, but we don’t have the keys and it is not possible to carry out any type of activity in those spaces” , we read in a post by the president of the children’s parliament. In February Marzaioli asked the administration for the timescales for restoring the headquarters in Piazza Ruggiero, which had been ‘temporarily’ handed over to Social Policies. “I was told that it would be back in our availability by mid-April – confirms the president – To date, however, no headquarters can still be seen in the distance”.
And, without beating around the bush, Marzaioli also reveals the reasons for that eviction: “after a statement in which we asked for more resources for youth policies, in a completely sudden manner the headquarters were taken away from us (moving/eviction included) in less than a week. With that statement we intended to stimulate debate and discussion on the topic but, except for the two meetings in the council commission that deals with youth policies chaired by councilor Guida, whom I feel I would like to thank, we have not obtained any feedback or results”. Then the thrust: “Caserta deserves something better. Caserta deserves an Administration with which it is possible to speak and which gives concrete answers to the questions that are asked, even if uncomfortable”, he concludes.
