Reservations at the Equal Opportunities office
Legnano – It is possible to book, for the morning of Saturday 18 May in the time slot 8.30 – 12.30, free breast visits for women with disabilities at the Legnano Hospital. The cancer prevention initiative, of the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Municipality of Legnano chaired by Barbara Monici, makes use of the collaboration of the LILT staff who will take care of the reception and assistance of the women who join this proposal.
“Since its establishment, – recalls Monici –, the commission focused part of its work on the topic of female disability and, in particular, on the methods of access for women with disabilities to preventive visits in the breast and gynecological fields. it is a form of attention towards the health of fragile women with physical, intellectual or sensorial disabilities who find it difficult to access private practices for visits, normally without a platform. With the initiative, we wanted to offer these women the opportunity for a visit that can help them prevent cancer: we’re starting with an experiment, but we intend to continue”.
The visits will be carried out by Dr. Paola Maria Gini in the surgical clinics in area B on the first floor. The number of seats is limited; reservation required by email [email protected]
