Investigations are underway by the local police of Verona, after the death of a 19-year-old resident of Bussolengo (Verona) who was arrested last night hit and dragged by a car which then fled, in the Veronetta neighborhood.
The aggression
According to investigators, the incident occurred at the end of an attack, which also occurred at the threat of a knife, by a group of three young people, including the victim. From the view of the surveillance cameras, There would have been a total of four people on board the car. It may have been an appointment to buy drugs. The driver would have become frightened by putting the car into gear and driving off quickly in an attempt to escape the attack, while the 19-year-old would have remained attached to the door on the passenger side, remaining clinging for a few meters and shortly after falling to the ground, after hitting a post along the road.
The rescue
Arriving on site, the patrols found the boy on the ground, rescued by the Suem 118 medics who transported him to the Borgo Trento hospital, where he died shortly afterwards. Some witnesses reported seeing a gray car fleeing, which was spotted on Strada Bresciana. By being able to read the license plate through the cameras, the officers seized the car and stopped the driver, a 24-year-old from Verona. He is currently under investigation for vehicular homicide aggravated by escape and failure to help; the other positions are being examined by the judiciary.
