Gastronomy in Campania: chef Antonio Papale presents his latest book

At the Regional Horse Riding Center of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, on 24 May 2024 at 6.00 pm, the presentation of the book “La Gastronomy in Campania”, a work created by the renowned San Marino chef Antonio Papale, will be held. A food and wine journey will follow with the tasting of unique recipes, created rigorously with the best products from the Caserta area.

Chef Antonio Papale, born in Santa Maria Capua Vetere 52 years ago, after obtaining a hotel management diploma, acquired important skills by working in internationally renowned hotels and restaurants.

A career that began in Costa Smeralda at Ciga Hotels and which also saw various seasonal jobs in Sestriere and Cortina D’Ampezzo. But since he was a child he hoped to become a teacher and so, at 25 years old, he took on the role of food and wine teacher and entered the classes of the hotel institutes of Campania, until he landed at the Alberghiero Galileo Ferraris in Caserta, where he imparted his knowledge and he has been transmitting his professionalism for about 20 years. But without abandoning his activity as a catering consultant which he continues to practice for important companies in the food and wine sector, both in Campania and abroad.

In 2018 the need arose to put together all the experience gained over the years in a book, so he published his first book “Philosophy of Taste”.

Subsequently, over the years, he realized that his first project needed to be enriched with an important component, history. So in 2023 he wrote his second book, “Gastronomy in Campania – History, recipes and anecdotes of a Terra Felix”, in which he reconstructs the history of food and wine in our territory, attaching historical and unpublished recipes, using exclusively products from the Campania region .

The mayor of the city Antonio Mirra, the director of the Equestrian Center Agnese Rinaldi, the councilor for culture of the Municipality of Santa Maria Capua Vetere Annamaria Ferriero, the councilor for Public Education of the Municipality will intervene at the presentation event of the Chef’s second book. of Santa Maria Capua Vetere Edda De Iasio, moderated by Manuel Lombardi.

Following the presentation of the book, at the Carriage Museum of the Regional Center for Horse Riding, Chef Antonio Papale will present a food and wine journey with dishes made with typical products from the Caserta area. The event is free and open to all.
