“The League is united around Lamezia Terme with ideas, concrete commitments and, above all, with the intention of opening a season of true protagonism for our reality”
This is what MP Domenico Furgiuele stated in commenting on today’s political day, which saw Senator Roberto Marti, president of the Senate’s culture, education and sports commission, and the Honorable Rossano Sasso, former Undersecretary of State, arrive in the city for a visit to some of the most evocative places of worship such as the Churches of the Immaculate and the Annunziata in Sambiase, which will be affected by redevelopment and enhancement actions as they are included in specific tables and projects.
President Marti himself then announced the creation within the current year of a loan of around one million euros which will concern the consolidation and restoration of the cloister of the Church of San Francesco di Paola.
A result that follows the inspection carried out a year ago by the superintendent of cultural heritage Dr. Argenti.
Senator Marti then anticipated a strong and unanimous commitment on the reopening of the Lamezia Terme freight terminal: “The CEO of RFI has officially opened a table on the opening of this important commercial infrastructure on which the city will be able to refer for its own development ”.
Deputy Furgiuele was satisfied and took the opportunity to highlight the operations of the League and his office in favor of the city.
“In compliance with the duties that supervise parliamentary activity – continues Furgiuele – I have promoted some procedural processes that will soon lead to concrete results, see the Pinqua project whose operation I fought for, when the city risked losing it to due to some technical errors.
I have therefore promoted an initiative within the competent ministry aimed at saving it from the ax of defunding, acting as a link between the territorial administrative dimension and the ministerial one.
I believe I performed the same role on the reclamation front of the Roma camp.
It is important to note that today the national and regional government have intended to invest resources, but let’s not forget the recent past, during which I personally promoted regional and municipal discussion tables in order to resolve the problem.
I did it with President Occhiuto, I did it in parliament hoping for real measures, I did it by involving the then councilor, now senator, Tilde Minasi, together with several members of the Lametina council.
I have done it and will continue to do so by closely monitoring the commissioner’s work and the correct execution of the tenders relating to the reclamation of the Roma camp.
