A 40-year-old of Tunisian origin, who is serving a prison sentence in Trento for serious injuries towards his wife, disfigured her, a peer from Trento, during an interview that took place inside the Spini prison in Gardolo. The man, in possession of a razor blade, also attempted to hit the woman in the throat, but was stopped by the prison police officers who intervened to defend the woman.
The intervention of the penitentiary police
The man, as reported by some local newspapers, had hidden the blade in his hand, taken from a disposable razor, and while he was talking to his wife he attacked her, scarring her face and also trying to hit her in the throat but he was stopped by the officers, who immediately helped the victim, who was then taken to the Santa Chiara hospital in Trento in non-serious conditions. The man now faces charges of attempted murder.
The previous attack
As mentioned, it was not the first time that the woman had been attacked by her husband. Last year she was hit in the face and neck with a knife, with a prognosis of 41 days. On that occasion the woman did not appear as a civil party during the trial.
