The rain wasn’t enough to intimidate the crowd that converged on the center of Milan to attend the event that has been taking place for 11 years. Radio Italy gives everyone, allowing anyone to see the most followed artists on the Italian music scene on stage. Gathered for two days in a row to watch the rehearsals from the early hours of dawn, boys and girls who have come from all over Italy reserve a seat in the front to hear Noemi, Gazzelle, The Kolors, Alessandra Amoroso, Emma, Geolier, Annalisa, Ghali, Angelina and Ultimoperform their greatest hits.
We start promptly at 8.40pm, despite a rain that started light with Noemi (and there is also the duet on “Makumba” with Carl Brave) becomes very strong with Gazelles, opening the games, and suddenly stops when Alessandra Amoroso takes to the stage, bringing calm to Piazza Duomo with “Fino a qui”, the song from Sanremo 2024. There’s Geolier preparing for the three dates at Maradona with “As you want”, “I p’me tu p’te”, “Money”, which everyone knows by heart. The rapper from Secondigliano, leaves and returns for the featuring with Mahmood, the singer from Milan who thanks the city with a personal memory: «It’s incredible for me to sing in the Duomo, it’s my first time, and it excites me very much because every day as a boy I went to visit my mother who had a bar back here, in Piazza Fontana, and I arrived here on the metro by climbing the stairs from the metro and found the Duomo in front of me. I took it for granted, now it’s impressive to be here.”
There is the which then continues with “Gold suit” and makes the square dance. They also arrive Annalisa and Emmarespectively with their team of dancers in tow, Angelina, winner of Sanremo 2024, who sang in red “La Boredom” (just returned from Eurovision), but also “What I say to you” and “We’ll think about it tomorrow”with which he had obtained the cup of Friends of Maria de Filippi in the singing category. Great anticipation since the morning for Ultimo, who leaves his city, Rome, to make Milan sing too in a huge crowd that takes it all to the tune of “I Tui Particulars”, which closes the first date of Radio Italia Live .
Great anticipation, therefore, for Naples which will host the great event on June 27th in Piazza del Plebiscito. No details have yet transpired on the possible line-up, but there aren’t many left out of the picture. Obviously we hope for the great talents who took to the stage in Palermo last year and Radio Italia will certainly not disappoint us this time either.
