Bologna, 16 May 2024 – The Democratic Party doesn’t waste time and the ‘Fabbrica Emilia-Romagna’ opens. The Regionals, it’s no secret, could be a flash, maybe already end of October or garlic beginning of Novemberso the dems decided to play in advance, starting “un path of ideas” before the European Championships on 8 and 9 June. The regional leadership of the Democratic Party last night with the party’s leaders defined the next steps.
The work will be led by the regional secretary of the Democratic Party Luigi Tosiani which started the path for the succession of Stefano Bonaccini. For now, however, there has been no talk of toto-names (although he has been going crazy for months now) but the path towards the match of matches has been shown. In Tosiani’s report there is an essential pillar: continuity with Bonaccini’s good administration to be combined with innovation to face the challenges of the next ten years. From here, the Democratic secretary welcomed the idea launched by the mayor of Bologna, Matteo Leporegiving rise to the Factory of the Ulivo model program, the one created by Giulio Santagata, throughout Emilia-Romagna.
We will therefore start from one first listening phase of the requests of trade unions, trade associations, the third sector, the party base and, obviously, mayors, administrators, parliamentarians, regional councilors and the entire possible coalition ranging from the 5 Star Movement to Italia Viva. Subsequently we will proceed with the actual construction of the programto be developed during the Feste dell’Unità, with thematic meetings on four macro-themes: healthcare and personal services; Work and businesses; schoolUniversity, culture, research and innovation; environmentterritory, internal areas, climate and ecological transition. From here, the idea is to launch a mega event in the various territories of the region (Bologna, Emilia, Romagna and internal areas), each dedicated to a topic. Only at this point, after having built the skeleton of the program, will the candidate be chosen.
Tosiani did not name namesbut outlined the profile of “a candidate who joins the Democratic Party, the coalition, which has the capacity to govern”. Certainly “we must do it quickly, well and together, and this is why we are taking this serious, orderly and rapid path. There will be no forcing, but not even a minute will be wasted, we are all at work. From today every effort is for the election campaignlistening and among people”, explained the regional leader. The party gave unanimous approvalas confirmed by the Dem deputy, responsible for the program in the regional secretariat, Andrea De Maria: “I support with great conviction the path towards the Regionals that the secretary has proposed. The Factory for Emilia-Romagna, which will involve all the territories of the region, it will be an opportunity to outline a far-reaching project, which will look to the future starting from the important and positive work of Bonaccini and his team. Then we will choose the candidate or candidate for president, with a single choice if the conditions are right or with the primaries.”
At the moment, although no one openly mentions it, there are several names in the fieldin the name of continuity: the regional councilor for work Vincenzo Collathe mayor of Ravenna Michele de Pascalethe vice president of the Region Irene Priolo and the regional transport councilor Andrea Corsini. But there are those who say that the former minister’s hypothesis is still in play Graziano Delrio (although he made it known that he did not want to run, as explained in an interview with our newspaper), while others have not completely abandoned the idea of having the secretary of the CGIL in the running Maurizio Landini.
