Everything is ready for this weekend’s event, from 17 to 19 May, in Pordenone: in fact, the “pink” edition of the Paolo Patelli Memorial, reserved for female athletes born in 2011, will take place at the PalaCrisafulli in Via Fratelli Rosselli.
Forty-eight players from the four provinces, divided into four teams and mixed together, who will battle in an event played with FIP regulations.
The RTT Alessandro Guidithe usual “deus ex machina” of youth and of this type of event dedicated to youth activity, will obviously be present with his staff involved in running the four teams: “I would say a nice opportunity that the Regional Committee dedicates to these forty-eight girls who have earned the call-up, which coincides with an undoubtedly positive moment for regional women’s basketball, given the finalists in the Under 15 and Under 17 championships, as well as Delser Udine in the final to move up to Serie A1. Congratulations to all! Having said that, it is an opportunity for the “smaller” ones to follow in the footsteps of those who preceded them, hoping that the usefulness of this event will be the same as that we found for the male Patelli. What we hope is to have created homogeneous formations: for these girls it will be a fairly articulated and complex test, also because it is completely outside their habits and comfort zone, with different coaches and teammates. I would therefore say, a great opportunity and experience to get involved and continue to grow.
Alongside all this, let’s not forget that, even in this event, there will be a very important aspect for all of us, which is solidarity. Also at the Forum we will try to be of support to our friend Federico Franceschin: “Together for Faith” is a refrain that will resonate, as in the men’s game, in the three days in Pordenone, because we don’t want to forget that basketball unites! The invitation is, therefore, to flock in large numbers to the facility in Via Fratelli Rosselli in Pordenone, to follow and applaud our young girls, and support a dear friend“.
