“The Municipality of Latina, therefore the administration led by the mayor Celentano, has not yet activated the mobile bollards in the Via dei Pub area to make the area safe”. Thus the PD Latina council group – Valeria Campagna, Daniela Fiore, Leonardo Majocchi – in a note when a question time called by them was held this morning.
Following the oral response provided by councilor Di Cocco, the council group declares: “The promise made by the councilor, that is, that of installing the bollards by July, appears very ambitious. Not to mention difficult to achieve. We obviously hope that this will happen given that the current bollards are now deteriorated and never came into operation. We will therefore monitor that what was stated today in question time is implemented within the times provided.”
“The superficial approach of this majority remains – they continue. We are talking about a complex and strongly experienced area in which different needs and requirements must coexist. It is therefore necessary (but to date it has not been done) to think of an overall regulation of the area which includes everything concerning traffic, timetables, opening and closing to traffic, to be drawn up together with the pub owners and the residents of the area.”
“It is for this reason – they conclude – that we will immediately request the convening of the Public Works commission. To organize a table between the institution, merchants and residents. The economic and social actors who live in the area on a daily basis (some of whom, we thank, are present today at question time) must necessarily be involved in the choices that concern the pub area”.
