Rimini opens a new desk to encourage tourism innovation

The Municipality of Rimini launches an initiative which aims to support all those who want to invest in the tourism business and in its innovation. This is a new information desk for owners and managers of accommodation facilities and hotels, aimed at the competitiveness of the Rimini tourism sector, facilitating business owners access and knowledge of local urban planning tools and strategic interventions.

Located in via Rosaspina 21, the office will be officially presented on May 23 (starting from 2.45 pm) in a public meeting at the Sala Ressi of the Galli Theater, accompanied by the distribution of an information flyer created specifically to spread the details and advantages of the ‘initiative.

The main objective of this desk is to provide operational support and all the necessary information to those who wish to improve, expand or redevelop their accommodation facilities, renewing the offer.

Among the possibilities offered, there is the opportunity to intervene on the appurtenant areas of existing structures, improving them with furnishing works such as umbrellas, pergolas, swimming pools and dehors, bubbles. Entrepreneurs can also integrate complementary activities, renovating or demolishing adjacent disused buildings to create car parks, restaurants, spas and conference rooms so as to improve the tourist offer.

Again with regard to interventions in external areas in the wake of urban regeneration, there are also measures in favor of the recovery of abandoned buildings to be allocated to collective residential uses, such as student dormitories or accommodation for hotel staff.

The information flyer distributed by the Municipality also highlights the possibility of renovating existing structures with restyling interventions, without the need for expansions or total demolition. For those who intend to expand their activities, expansion projects are planned that respect the integrity of the existing structures, such as the change of use of shops on the ground floor or the extension in elevation and adhesion.

Furthermore, it is possible to expand the structure by annexing one or more structures from adjacent lots, maintaining the unity of services and hospitality-hotel use, even in buildings without functional connections, or by exploiting the advantages of merging, functionally connecting the new volumes .

The desk also offers advice for those who wish to carry out a profound redevelopment of the structures, up to demolition and total reconstruction. This includes building replacement projects to create new, modern accommodation facilities.

During the meeting, the opportunities offered by existing regulations will be explored in depth, starting with the Urban Building Regulations (Rue). These include volumetric incentives and exemptions for sustainable regeneration and redevelopment interventions, in line with regional legislation.

The initiative of the Municipality of Rimini is not limited to hotels. In fact, entrepreneurs will be able to find information on how to expand food and drink kiosks, open new recreational and sports activities by participating in specific tenders, or invest in forms of collective residence on disused structures.

This desk represents a concrete commitment by the Municipality to support the tourism sector and promote the sustainable development of the city.

The meeting on May 23rd will offer a precious opportunity to learn about all the available opportunities and the advantages deriving from existing regulations and municipal services designed to strengthen the city’s economic fabric in a dynamic and proactive way.
