AREZZO – A short film to tell the story of the little golden man. The project, curated by the film production company Fez Film of Fernando Maraghini and Erica Pacileo, was born from the idea of the author and actor Uberto Kovacevich of the Libera Accademia del Teatro with the desire to pay homage to one of the most iconic and romantic characters of Arezzo of the 20th century. Filming will start next autumn and will take place entirely in the city’s locations linked to the little golden man himself, from the station to the arcades, which will become the set for a film with a strong emotional impact that will be presented in the future in major national competitions and international.

The story is set after the Second World War when a shoemaker waits for years for his son to return from the Russian front. The hope and faith of being able to hug him again are so unshakable that the man decides to dye his clothes and his ever-present bicycle gold to wait for him every day at the station, in silence, with the certainty of being immediately recognized as soon as he gets off. from the train.

Thus was born the “little golden man”, a figure known and deeply respected by the people of Arezzo for his pain but also because he was identified as a symbol of aversion towards a destiny to be rewritten. This story will now be told by Fez Film, fresh from the recent victory of the Mokka Award (the most prestigious award given to international cinema in India), with a project which will involve the entire local community through the activation of crowdfunding which will allow companies, associations and individuals from Arezzo to contribute with a free donation. Further information is available on the Facebook page or on the Instagram profile “The Little Golden Man – The film”.

«The story of the little golden man – comments Maraghini, – it tells the pain and hope of a man about whom the people of Arezzo still speak with emotion. Kovacevich will be the interpreter of such a particular character to give back to the public all his expressive strength and multiple emotions in a short film which, due to the setting, the events narrated and the collective involvement, aspires to be a true “cinematic work of the city of Arezzo”. This short film will then be presented at festivals in Italy and abroad, thus also becoming a promotional vehicle for the same territory».
