To the Rowing club Naples on May 18th a Saturday of Inclusive Sport with the fifth edition of the Tennis Day “Matteo’s embrace”, an event included in the official program of “Naples European Capital of Sport 2026”.

On the tennis courts of Naples Rowing Clubfrom 9 am to 12 pm, with the slogan “Sport belongs to everyone, sport is for everyone” games and sports exercises will be organized between champions of different disciplines and around 40 young athletes with intellectual disabilities, coming from schools and associations sports players from Campania who will have, as partners, the students of the tennis school of the Circolo Canottieri Napoli.

Massimo Cierro, former Italian champion and Federtennis national coach, will be the testimonial of the event and will supervise all the activities together with masters and instructors from Campania who, together with many volunteers, have joined the event. The opening of the event will see speeches by the president of the Napoli Rowing Club Giancarlo Bracale and the vice president René Notarangelo.

Participating in this year’s edition will be: Istituto Rocco Cav. Cinquegrana of Sant’Arpino, the Novio Atellano Institute of Frattamaggiore, the Antonio de Curtis Institute of Melito, the Adolfo Pansini Classical High School of Naples, the Openmind Association of Caserta and the ASD FC Casalnuovo.

The purpose of the sporting event, created by the professor Antonio Verrazzo, president of the Salesian Youth Sports Center of Naples, is to create new relational bridges between people through inclusive sporting activity. The intent is to make the athletes, their families and the entire team of volunteers “experience” moments of welcome, inclusion and listening, but above all of healthy shared fun.

The event is organized by the Campania Regional Committee, the Naples Provincial Committee of the Salesian Youth Sports Clubs and the Naples Rowing Club, with the patronage of the Campania Region.
