The 2024 edition of “Bites & Sips of books” is backthe cultural and literary event promoted in Porta Nuova by ‘bites & sips… of Sicily’ and Lillo Gesone with Libera Marsala “Vito Pipitone” club, Mondadori bookshop and “Il Rumore delle idee”. Five meetings from 20 May to 21 June 2024in which the authoritative voices of investigative television journalism, politics and Italian current affairs present their latest editorial works. It starts on Monday 20 May exceptionally at 9pm, with Sigfrido Ranucci, face of Report broadcast on Raitre.
Ranucci will present the latest novel “The choice” (published by Bompiani) which he talks about the path that led him here; he does it by choosing some fundamental investigations of which he reveals the background, but also by evoking figures – such as his father, an athlete and financier of great charisma, and his teacher Roberto Morrione, founder of Rai News 24 – who forged in him the ability to follow every choice to the end: because doing journalism in the field means make decisions that change the course of things forever, in an intimate and collective sense. From these pages emerges the courageous self-portrait of a man who, despite the constant pressure of reality in its harshest aspects, does not give in to cynicism, does not stop wondering and asking us: “What is the right choice?”. Ranucci will talk with Salvatore Inguì, Libera’s provincial contact.
