the U15 falls to Fortitudo Grottaglie and Bari

On the afternoon of Monday 3 June the U15 of Apulia Trani lost, 1-3, against Fortitudo Grottaglie in a fairly balanced match in the first half with the Trani team proving to be more dangerous than the Grottaglie team but without ever managing to inflate the goal also thanks to some prodigious interventions by the visiting goalkeeper. So we go to half-time at 0-0.

In the second half Fortitudo took the lead thanks to a nice low free kick with the Trani team seeming to feel the pinch so much so that after about 10′ they conceded the lead thanks to a solitary action on the flank resulting in a curling shot which found its way into seven on the far post for the classic Sunday goal.

In the third and final half Apulia Trani tries in every way to shorten the distance but it will be the Grottagliesi who close the match at 0-3. In the end it was Guerini who made the defeat less bitter with a goal coming from the development of an inactive ball.

These are the statements of the coach Alessandro Abruzzese: “It is absolutely not an excuse but we knew almost nothing about this team. So it was a challenging match. I have nothing to reproach the girls because what interests me are the approach and performance: these components were not lacking. My athletes were unable to finish while they were more cynical. I didn’t see any errors. Now let’s think about ending the season in the best possible way.”

In the match on Monday 10 June, however, the blue-and-whites fell 8-3 at Bari on a very hot afternoon which did not allow the two teams to play at high intensity. In the first half the most dangerous offensive actions belonged to Bari with the Trani team maintaining a 0-0 draw until the 20th minute when the hosts took the lead by exploiting a construction error from below by the guests. Then, after a few more minutes, due to another defection in midfield the red and whites went 2-0. We will then go to the locker room.

In the second half two substitutions were made at Apulia Trani due to some injuries. The match, however, did not change with the Bari team continuing to attack, closing this quarter at 6-1. The goal of the Trani team comes thanks to an action orchestrated by Losurdo who serves Guerini in depth who passes it to Pappalettera who makes no mistake.

In the third and final half, with the result already defined, the blue and white did not give up and scored two more goals with Pappalettera and Guerini. The match ends 8-3.

Here is the post-match comment from coach Alessandro Abruzzese: “This time too I can’t blame the girls for anything: we knew that the opponent was prepared in all departments. I saw a correct approach with all the girls who never gave up showing a lot of maturity.”
