ANCONA – As soon as it was donated, it was immediately inaugurated and set off on a journey towards Switzerland. The one called into question is the new ambulance of the Yellow Cross of Ancona, which was inaugurated on Saturday 4 May complete with a ceremony in Piazza Diaz on the occasion of the traditional tombola of San Ciriaco. A latest generation vehicle, donated by Mrs Olga Fofi in memory of her parents, brother and sisters.
An ambulance which after a few days left for Switzerland, as the president of the Yellow Cross, Alberto Caporalini, says: «For some time we have been providing assistance to a child who has undergone a delicate surgery and who will now undergo a sort of transplant. We made the move to Switzerland with the vehicle donated by Mrs. Fofi, but the best thing was knowing that a day later this operation was successful, with the little one soon being able to return to Ancona. A journey of hope that ended in the best possible way and there was no more beautiful story to inaugurate this vehicle that was given to us. Every year, thanks to the generosity of the people of Ancona and beyond, we somehow manage to lay the foundations for the purchase of a new vehicle. In recent years, all the ambulances that arrived with the 5×1000 have become operational and are made available to the 118 operations center.”
