Cases of arthrosis are increasing and medical experimentation aims to update it. In twenty years, in Italy, we have gone from 28 thousand to 81 thousand knee arthroplasty operations (source Riap – Italian Arthroprosthesis Registry) and of these, almost 3 thousand were carried out in Puglia. Life expectancy is higher and, at the same time, there are frequent health problems that deserve particular attention. For this reason, around 100 orthopedists from all over Italy meet in Taranto for a day of study dedicated to observing the most innovative techniques for the operation and full recovery of the patient. All with the Live Surgery format: in the operating room Dr. Andrea Baldinialready a researcher in New York and an international reference on the subject, will carry out an intervention and at the same time, in the conference room, his colleagues will observe each phase of the operation on a large screen.
Friday 14 June “New frontiers in knee prosthetics” in the Bernardini Nursing Home in via Scoglio del Tonno, 64, in Taranto. With a system of remotely controlled cameras, without the presence of cameramen to guarantee all suitable conditions, the images of the “Gks prime flextraser” operation will be transmitted in real time, by Dr. Baldini, directly from the operating room to the conference room where all participating professionals will be able to assist and ask questions. The afternoon session will be moderated by prof. Biagio Morettiby prof. Giuseppe Maccagnano and by the prof. Galasso.
