There was some anticipation for the first televised confrontation between Flavio Stasi and Pasqualina Straface, who are vying for victory in the municipal elections of Corigliano-Rossano. We are openly biased (and God forbid) but everyone was able to see first-hand the profound difference between the two candidates. Stasi has definitely become a giant, often mocking the cosmic emptiness of the right.
Pasqualina Straface seemed clumsy and rather monotonous in her language, a Serie D “politician” without any art or role, with decency speaking. Few contents, all propaganda and all “neutralized”, sometimes in a disarming way and often with an ironic and mocking smile compared to the embarrassing chatter of the regional councilor.
And the differences between the two immediately appeared profound. For example, the establishment of American industry in the port of Schiavonea. Straface says yes without ifs or buts “crushed” by the needs of the right, with the false liturgy for plebeian use of (fake) jobs for a depressed area, the theoretical basis of all the thefts carried out in the territory starting from the infamous law – scam with license plate 488.
Flavio Stasi, on the other hand, says yes as long as the settlement is located in the industrial area, thus leaving the port free (“Outside the port” cit.). A stance that Straface has clearly “accused”, given how tied she is – hand and foot – to the person who launched her into this electoral misadventure.
Another issue is the state road 106 where Stasi achieved significant personal success due to the stubbornness with which he opposed the first Anas plan. As for the question of the Enel power plant, after an initial hypothesis evaluated positively by the parties on the hydrogen hypothesis, this was rejected by the national government… which until proven otherwise is the political party of reference for Straface.
At a certain point Pasqualina even tried to accuse the mayor of having poor strategic vision for the famous third city of Calabria and here too an easy game for Flavio, who dismantled his opponent’s theses with the evidence of over 100 million in investments which will make Schiavonea and Cantinella absolutely different and which has even attracted the attention of the University of Trento on civic, participatory and urban redevelopment.
