The Commission is ready to evaluate over six hundred counterarguments
Legnano – One hundred and ninety observations, for a total of over six hundred counter-arguments which will be discussed one by one. First in the Urban Planning Commission (which today is called Future City) and then in the City Council.
Green light
The marathon to get to the approval of the new government plan for the territory of the city of Legnano will begin in the afternoon at 6.30 pm, when the commission will meet in the Red Room of Palazzo Malinverni to listen to the report of the councilor Lorena Fedeli and the municipal technicians who in In recent months they have worked on the observations on the draft PGT which was adopted last December. The commission was convened after the plan document received the green light from the Metropolitan City, Arpa, Aipo and all the other institutional actors who in some way according to the rules were required to have their say on the projects that the Lorenzo Radice’s junta over the city of Legnano. Now is therefore the time to open the technical discussion at municipal level: reasonably, the Commission was convened on three consecutive evenings. An inevitable marathon, given that there were so many observations presented by organizations, businesses and individuals. One hundred and ninety, it was said, but then we must take into account that many of these observations were divided into several questions, which the Municipality’s technicians had to answer promptly. Hence the 606 counterarguments that will be presented to the councillors. The session will be public, but the contents of the discussion will be essentially technical. The political confrontation will come at a later stage, with the debate preceding the vote of the City Council. Once the work of the Future City Commission has been completed, the group leaders will decide the date of the council, which then, given the incompatibility declared by the president Umberto Silvestri (Pd), will be convened by Daniela Laffusa (Lega). However, it is reasonable to assume that the new territorial governance plan can reach the council within a month, at most a month and a half, and that a single evening will not be enough to reach its approval. By the summer, Legnano will still have its new Pgt.
Forced stages
Accused on several occasions (and from many quarters) of having paralyzed urban planning in Legnano, the Radice council wasted no time in carrying out an impressive job in two years. Regardless of the judgment on the document, the fact remains that the previous general variant of the PGT had required four years of work: since Lorenzo Vitali’s administration had decided in 2013 that the document approved in 2011 was no longer current, until the administration of Alberto Centinaio brought the approval of the general variant to the Council. Good or bad, in the year of its centenary, Legnano is preparing to approve the document that will shape its future for the next decades.
