On the occasion of an event organized by Under Armor at the Brand New House Under Armor in Piazza Gae Aulenti in Milan, the AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw answered questions from the journalists present, including the correspondent of TMW. These are some of his statements:
What do you think of Maldini? “As a player I can’t say much, I haven’t seen much of him, only on YouTube. But still he is one of the best, if not the best defender of all time. It was truly a pleasure to have the opportunity to deal with him for a year. Did he give me special advice? Yes of course, but I keep them to myself (laughs, ed)”.
A thought on the fans’ protest. “Milan is a really great team, we didn’t get the results we wanted and they have every right to be angry because they love the club. We definitely have to do better. Sometimes you love a team so much that you may not be satisfied with what happens on the pitch and the performances of the players. We have to accept it, listen to what they say and see what we can do better next season.”
Do you feel like one of the leaders of this Milan? “No, no, not yet. It’s not something that comes quickly, I have to earn it on the pitch and over time.”
