GROUP C

Antonio Rota

From Antonio Rota (Castelfrettese) we receive and publish: “Whoever wins rejoices, whoever loses explains. I start from the assumption that the two photos (published below) perfectly represent the sense of a “victory”. In 3 years we went from 9 very young boys to 36 boys between 2007/2008 (the 3 of 2009 had the pleasure of being present only in the last match as a reward for the excellent work done with the very young players). I was saying that we don’t feel like losers, if anything we have learned something new: how to manage emotional tension.

Life in sport and beyond will often confront these kids with having to manage emotions and difficult choices and sport has always been an excellent training ground. Returning to the championship as an end in itself, I would first of all like to congratulate Biagio Nazzaro Chiaravalle for the final success which is deserved even if not surprising (obviously nothing is due).

I remember that around January 20th VALLESINATV he asked me to take stock of the group after 4/5 days and I told him frankly that Biagio was the favorite and that there was an overall balance.

castelfrettese: end of August 2021 start of preparation for very young people (9 kids)

Now with my balls still I can say, alas, that I was a good prophet. The championship in general had two teams a step above the others, Biagio and Moie, built and structured to play in the regionals. Both “failed” the objective, but if the Moie took a while to get on course, the Biagio was competitive right from the start.

mid May 2024 – 34 kids (5 absent)

This group was crazy, where the top 3 finish within 3 points. All 3 for different reasons were not able to close the discussion when we could, it seemed like a group of missed opportunities and Chiaravalle was, so to speak, more “lucky” in this regard. If you consider that in the direct matches we obtained 10 points out of 12 and 4 out of 6 against Biagio and

Borghetto (excellent championship for Emanuele Polzonetti’s boys) 0 points in direct matches but came within a game…all this is the result of the fact that no team has ever held back in matches (as it should be) and that each match was a story in itself.Honor to all the teams in the group who expressed a good quality of play, intensity, passion and healthy competitive spirit, including Agugliano and Cupramontana who have always made their maximum effort regardless of their ranking.

If there is a team that has perhaps disappointed expectations in relation to the strength it has available, it is Moie. Never really fighting but capable of important performances given the quality of the guys in the team.

Instead, Castelplanio paid dearly for the injuries of some really good guys. The championship of friend Gagliardi’s Aurora Jesi was also excellent. Monserra and Sassoferrato two beautiful teams with a beautiful identity. As underdogs we took the satisfaction of being the surprise and the loose cannon of the group. At the beginning we thought we would fight to get between 5th and 8th place, then the appetite comes with eating and we tried to try to get as high as possible, without however distorting our true identity and mission. Let’s say that the cake turned out very well but when it was time to decorate, the icing slipped from the trembling hand (the boys entered the field against Moie very tense and after 20 minutes they were 3 down and coming back wasn’t so obvious). Honor to those who won, and applause to all the others who gave life to a hard-fought and fair championship. I thank my collaborators Roberto, Andrea and Lucio, I thank the president Amagliani, the technical director Zandegù, all the management and above all the great Silvio. We are a growing and evolving youth sector. When I arrived there were 50 members, now we are 150″.
