Over 170 hectares of agricultural land for sale in Bat

There are 911 hectares of land owned by ISMEA for sale in Puglia with benefits for young farmers, support against brain drain and to encourage green ideas in a region where there is a strong push for innovation and the entry of young people in agriculture. This is what Coldiretti Puglia states, in relation to the possibility of purchasing land through the Land Bank (Bat) of Ismea which makes 36 lands available in Puglia, according to the processing of the Coldiretti Observatory on Ismea data.

These are 5 lands of 205.65 hectares in the province of Bari, 8 lands for 170.82 hectares in the BAT, 6 lots in Brindisi of 81.21 hectares, 7 lands with 152.60 hectares in Foggia, 8 lands in Taranto of 216.53 hectares and 2 in Lecce of 83.94 hectares, available for green ideas and projects for the rural development of Puglia, explains regional Coldiretti.

The “Agricultural Land Bank” was established by art. 16 of law 28 July 2016, n. 154, and constitutes the complete inventory of agricultural land that becomes available also following abandonment of production activity and early retirement, collecting, organizing and publicizing the necessary information on the natural, structural and infrastructural characteristics of the same, on the methods and conditions of sale and purchase of the same. Everyone can access the Bank for free.

“This is an opportunity not to be missed, when the availability of land is the main obstacle to the creation of new agricultural businesses run by young people, especially because the real innovation compared to the past is the under 35s arriving from other sectors or with different experiences and not can count on family land assets”, explains Donato Mercadante, leader of Coldiretti Giovani Impresa Puglia, underlining that “in Puglia the land value of land is still growing by 1.5% in 1 year, with inflationary phenomena reviving the land as a refuge asset, with a peak of 1.9% of land in the plains, there is an average land value of 18,633 euros in Puglia, on a used agricultural area of 1,250,823 hectares, the highest figure in Italy” , concludes Mercadante.

The renewed attractiveness of the campaign for young people – continues Coldiretti Puglia – is reflected in the common belief that agriculture has become a sector capable of offering and creating employment and professional growth opportunities, which are also destined to increase over time. It is therefore no coincidence that over eight out of ten Italians (82%) would be happy if their child worked in agriculture according to the Coldiretti/Ixè survey.

The capacity for innovation and multifunctional growth – continues the regional Coldiretti – leads young people’s farms to have a surface area that is more than 54 percent higher than the average, a turnover 75 percent higher than the average and 50 percent higher than the average. employed per additional company. And if among the young agricultural entrepreneurs there are those who have chosen to take up the baton from their parents, the real innovation compared to the past – concludes Coldiretti Puglia – are the under 35s who have arrived from other sectors or from different family experiences who have decided to bet on countryside with flair, passion, innovation and professionalism, the so-called first generation farmers.
