Two concerts were held on Sunday 12 May 2024: the first ad Aviglianoin Piazza Gianturco, at the invitation of the Association of Mutual Aid among Workers which celebrated the 150th anniversary of its Foundation;
the other to Powerat 7.30 pm, in the splendid setting of the “Francesco Stabile” municipal theater.
The artistic event in the capital of Potenza, organized by the Municipal Administration, marked the reopening of the historic theater after a brief closure for restoration work.
There were many people from Potenza who, queuing since 6.00 pm, they waited, patiently, for the theater to open to secure a place and thus be able to attend the fateful concert.
While waiting they were able to admire the Lamborghini Urus Performante and the Camper Azzurro on displayin the adjacent Piazza Mario Pagano, in the exhibition space set up by the staff of the Potenza Traffic Police.
The musical evening, presented by the journalist Annamaria Sodano, which they attended the Prefect of Potenza Michele Campanaro, the Mayor of the capital Mario Guarente, the Police Commissioner of the province Giuseppe Ferrari together with other civil and military authorities, began with the performance of the young musicians of the Maldestra Orchestraa musical project born as part of the initiatives that led the Municipality of Potenza to be proclaimed “City of young people 2024”.
This was followed by the Fanfare concert masterfully directed by Maestro Massimiliano Profili. The repertoire of songs performed by the police musicians ranged from military and symphonic marches to concert pieces, touching on different musical genres, from original works for band to soundtracks, from pop music to jazz compositions.
Also present in the audience was the famous composer Walter Farina, originally from the province of Potenza, and author, among other things, of the arrangements of some of the songs performed on the occasion.
Mother’s Day anniversary a tribute to all the mothers present could not be missing.
The famous song “Mamma” was performed, with a special dedication to a spectator of the evening, Mrs. Maria Rosaria, recently turned eighty, mother of Mario, one of the saxophonists of Lucanian origins of the Fanfare.
During the event, the students of the 1st A of the Secondary School of the IC “Torraca – Bonaventura” of Potenza were awarded, winners, for the “Video” Category with the project “TG della Legalità: Strada fare – The path of legality”, of the provincial selection of the 7th edition of the We Pretend Legality competition organized by the Department of Public Security in collaboration with the MIUR.
Grand finale, finally, on the notes of official police march “Giocundità” and the Italian anthem, amidst the applause of a rapt and enthusiastic audience.
